A week of fingerstyle guitar study by Renbourn Guitar Workshops to celebrate 50 years of Renbourn recordings
Tutors John Renbourn, Remy Froissart and Mike Walker
A special workshop in Spain to recognise the 50th birthday of John's first solo album.
We've found a great location in Catalonia in the Spanish foothills of the Pyrenees.
It's a restored rectory dating back centuries and is a really outstanding workshop venue.
More details of the place here.
The nearest airport is Gerona but there are convenient options to arrive in Barcelona by air or by road and rail from mainland Europe as well.
Accommodation will vary from single room, shared room, small studio rooms and (comfortable) tents with mattress.
There is some scope for bringing a non-playing partner but these rooms are few this time.
Accommodation will be allocated on a first come first served basis as always.
The venue is way out in the woods and is surrounded by beautiful scenery with lots of scope for walking and exploring. Other possibilities at La Miana include horse riding and painting lessons.
The Rectoria de La Miana
La Miana is also well placed for touring - particularly for fans of the art of Salvador Dali as it's within striking distance of the Dali museum in Figueres and his 2 houses at Portligat and Pubol.
All are very much worth a visit
The workshop itself will inevitably have a retrospective feel and musical activity will be themed around John's first solo album but will, as ever, be a general exploration of his music and the many genres reflected in his repertoire as well.
See the prices & booking page for more info on prices and accommodation. This is going to be a very special Renbourn workshop so we expect places to fill pretty quickly - use the contact from on the left to let us know if you are interested in attending.
